Exploring How Virtual Reality Can Be Enhanced For Improved User Experiences Lila Bozgeyikli , Ren Bozgeyikli, Jack Clark (School of Information, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ ) A1
Virtual reality (VR) is now a part of our lives in various domains from education to rehabilitation and entertainment. VR aims to exploit as many senses as possible to immerse humans in experiences that are perceived as real. At the Extended Reality and Games Laboratory in the University of Arizona's iSchool, we tackle research questions, such as (1) How do design aspects contribute to user perception in virtual reality? (2) What are the effects of novel interaction techniques on user experience in virtual reality? (3) How can the boundary between the real and virtual worlds be blurred?, with the ultimate goal of increasing the benefits that can be gained from virtual experiences.
